Working long hours can lead to a significant drop in productivity. What’s more, it can also have a negative impact on your overall health and well-being. In a Japanese study conducted on medium and small sized businesses, researchers found that those who worked 10 hours and slept 6 hours on a daily basis were at a 97% higher likelihood of depression than those who worked 6-8 hours per day.
The more you became technologically capable, your work week becomes shorter and shorter. In fact, the standard 40-hour work week is the norm in most companies worldwide. However, it does not have a positive effect on overall productivity. So, a 4-day work week can actually benefit your overall health and state of mind.
